Mimico High School
opened it's doors in 1924 and closed in 1988. Prior to the publishing of the "Peptimist"
the students of MHS published a weekly newsletter called "The Magpie".
1929 marked the first
publication of the New Mimico High School Yearbook. The first Editor was Bryce
Code, who wrote an explanation as to why our yearbook would be titled
("The Practical Optimist")
OPTIMIST is a dreamer, but the Peptimist, the practical Optimist, is not only
a dreamer, but brings into a world of reality these visions. Hence the subtitle
of "The Practical Optimist" of our yearbook.

much smaller scale; this is the first attempt to offer our Year Book to the public
and we are very anxious to meet with your approval. Allow us to introduce the
"Peptimist" to you as much more extensive production that we have ever
at any previous time attempted.
The Peptimist has a threefold purpose
to fulfill: to foster and encourage the "esprit de corps" in our school:
to present the public a review of the academic year: and, finally, to server as
a permanent link between the graduate and his school.
